The released of Might and Magic Heroes VI expansion Shades of Darkness for PC early this May 2013 made me installed the Might and Magic Heroes VI game as the expansion can’t be played without it. For those who are not familiar with the game well Might and Magic Heroes VI is a turn-based tactical role-playing game. Its first installment came out back in May 6, 1996 and I was able to complete the game back then. After that the series continue but unfortunately I haven’t completed any of its campaign due to lots of good and time consuming games came out. Anyhow I’m trying to randomly play this game once more as I still find this type of game entertaining.
Let me quote the Official Description of HMM6:
The Might and Magic Heroes 6 adventure starts 400 years before the events in Heroes of Might and Magic 5, showcasing a family of heroes in a thrilling, epic story where Angels plot to revive an unfinished war. A legendary Archangel general killed during the war of the Elder races returns to life with a vengeance. Under the cover of preparations for an upcoming Demon invasion, he unites the peoples of Ashan to eradicate his ancient enemies. However, he underestimates the power of the all too human dynasty of the Griffin Dukes.
Official Description of Shades of Darkness :
A century after the tragic events of Might & Magic Heroes VI, that determined the heroic fate of a dynasty, Shades of Darkness recounts, in two original campaigns, pivotal moments in Ashan’s darker history that will define the future of a decadent underground people and decide the survival of the dying cult of the Spider Queen.
For every expansion of a game player always expect some new cool addition to the game. For MMH6 – Shades of Darkness there are tons of new content including new units, new environment, New campaigns focusing on the darker side of the Might & Magic Heroes with darker graphics for us players to enjoy. The evil now becomes a Hero in this game and you take charge of the hero named Raelag. So who is Raelag ? He is a Dark Elf heir of Queen Tuidhana.
The good old days experience of this Saga continues in the expansion. The excitement is there, graphics became much better, newer creatures are cool. Combat animations are nicely done. As your Hero gain experience and eventually level up you get skill point which you can use to pick the skill you want to enable it in your Hero.
So far I’m happy that I had the chance to play game like this again. Overall I like it.
